The County of Lacombe Lifelong Learning Association (CLLLA) is a non-profit society whose goal is to provide affordable learning and community development opportunities to adults living within the County of Lacombe. We cover five basic programming areas with our courses, which are:
* Adult Basic Literacy: aimed at enabling learners to improve functional reading, writing, and numeracy skills for further education, employment preparation, or life enhancement.
* ESL (English as a Second Language) or FSL (French as a Second Language): aimed at improving basic proficiency in either one of Canada’s official languages.
* Community Issues: aimed at resolving, through education, an identified community issue or problem. This area can include life-skills such as health & fitness, managing finances, parenting programs, and seniors programming.
* Employability Enhancement: providing learning opportunities that provide a skills refresher, update, or short-term training required for employment.
* General Interest: (generally referred to as recreational courses) Learning opportunities which don’t fall into the above listed areas and with may include courses in arts, cooking, crafts, and foreign languages.
The Association works in cooperation with the agencies and community organizations in this brochure to provide the County of Lacombe with a variety of Lifelong Learning opportunities.
